Work in progress exploring speciesism, encounters with non-human animals, extinction, re-wilding and perceptions.

In a world where non-human animals have been constricted to their representation in human culture. Trapped inside the man made world, captivity, the pages of a book or lost to the world all together. With less than 4% of animals on the planet, wild animals, humans are disconnected from our wild relatives, increasingly so. Bound, trapped, captured, held against their will, and press-ganged in to cultural representations, animals serve as slaves to the human world. Another product in a world ever detached from nature, can we not only re-wild our world, but re-wild humans before many are lost forever. I have depended my practice more to  explore whether a fine art practice can not only aid in the conservation of non-human animals, be re-wild humans with a greater connection with nature.
